The 2011 Business Summit will concentrate on the Targeted Investment Programme for Employment and Economic Growth (TIPEEG), a three-year plan to fast track Government programmes with a high employment creation and growth potential. TIPEEG is designed to tackle Namibia's unemployment rate of 51.2 percent and focuses on four sectors: agriculture, transport, tourism, and housing and sanitation. A total of 646 projects will be implemented and will cost government close to N$18.7 billion over the next Medium Term Expenditure Framework cycle.

The Annual Gala Dinner will be take place in the evening on the 18th June 2011 at the Safari Hotel. This admired and auspicious event presents a great networking opportunity and is to be addressed by Africa's richest man.

Why did it take us so long to host such an event? Namibia spent the entire of 2011 demonstrating a renewed spirit to
achieve the main targets under Vision 2030, of job creation and economic growth. There is special focus on policies and plans that would spur delivery on those targets. The country held three international investor conferences, in
conjunction with the Commonwealth Business Council, with the last one held just before the festive season in Windhoek, the first to take place in the home soil.

The last two took place in London UK and Perth Australia. Head honchos at the Commonwealth Business Council have noticed the renewed spirit and commented that this should have happened a long time ago. Namibia should have long ago taken advantage of her position to boost the much needed economic growth. For a complete story and
