NCCI will identify issues affecting the business environment in our cities, towns, villages and the country as a whole, and advocate a speedy resolution of such issues. Our Board of Directors, the Secretariat and our network of prominent entrepreneurs and top business executives have extensive knowledge regarding Namibia’s economic agenda, and our issue-based committees engage stakeholders at all levels to achieve an environment which is conducive to profitable business undertakings. We have succeeded as a Chamber in establishing and maintaining a healthy and constructive relationship with the government, organised labour and civil society. Members of the NCCI are free to bring issues of concern to the Secretariat so that solutions can be found.

These events have truly become the Chamber’s important dialogue and brainstorming platforms for business leaders and relevant stakeholders such as policy makers and organised labour. They provide an opportunity to participate in thought-provoking sessions, while bringing the collective voice of business to the fore.
The NCCI’s Annual Business Summit
Hosted every year, the Business Summit is becoming a popular event aimed at bringing together key business leaders, government decision-makers, labour unions and relevant stakeholders in the country to discuss some critical issues related to the economic development of the country. The event includes extraordinary speakers, opportunities to exchange ideas and explore business partnerships.’s

Annual SMEs Conference

The SMEs Conference is also another growing platform that brings together SMEs and government ministries/agencies responsible for assisting entrepreneurs and promoting entrepreneurship in the country. SME service providers and other partners get a chance to present their products to the right audience and get exposed to real small business sector development challenges. Participants also have an opportunity to hear from the relevant officials in order to address their policy concerns.

Trade Facilitation

Services include business referrals, business matchmaking, hosting foreign business delegations, leading business delegations abroad, and providing trade-related information which can facilitate increased trade amongst our members and between our members and foreign businesses. We also facilitate participation in Namibian and foreign trade fairs and other exhibition platforms.

The NCCI is very active in attending to enquiries from existing or emerging exporters and importers, and connects them to potential buyers or suppliers. This service is particularly effective for foreign-based companies wishing to export to or import from Namibia. Local companies with the intention to source products/services from outside the country or export products to other countries are also assisted.

NCCI disseminates business information to members on a regular basis. This information is sent to members with the understanding that it is helpful to their business operations. We use our website, our company database, bi-monthly NCCI Business Journal (NBJ), electronic newsletter (Chamber News), regular e-mails to members, members’ ’ forums, etc.
Networking is also an essential aspect of business. Successful businesses know the value of networks, and the Chamber provides access to valuable sources of business information on market, product, and service opportunities at home and abroad. The NCCI organises and hosts a number of networking opportunities including informative breakfast meetings, luncheons and dinner meetings which provide excellent opportunities for business people to network amongst themselves and with key stakeholders in our economy. Such events are organised at local, regional and national levels, and all members are welcome to participate provided that they register on time.
Chamber members can also freely access our Information Resource Centre, where a lot of useful information related to business is available.

The Chamber has a number of capacity-building programmes for micro, small and medium businesses, as well as for large corporate entities. Such programmes include training through workshops, seminars and conferences. We also have a mentorship programme for SMEs which allows our members from large corporate entities, as well as retired executives, to provide mentorship to our small members. In addition, the Chamber sells educational material for business operators who want to do self-study in various areas of business management.

We are the only business organisation certified by the Ministry of Finance to issue certificates of origin. The Chamber certifies export documents (Certificates of Origin) as required by foreign customs departments. All our branches will gladly assist you in this regard.

The NCCI has partnered with Namibia Health Plan (NHP), a leading medical aid provider, to provide medical aid solutions to SME members of the Chamber. This solution allows NCCI members with small business enterprises, who are unable to participate in a medical aid scheme due to their limited number of staff members, to have medical aid cover at the same rate as corporate clients.

For the benefit of our SMEs, we have partnered with the Retirement Fund Solutions (RFS) to provide retirement solutions to our SME members who may have only a few employees and may therefore not be able to participate in a pension fund. Members who wish to participate in this scheme should provide information to our branches near them to get registered.
